What is canine rehabilitation?
Canine rehabilitation focuses on how your dog moves and functions in everyday life. I use exercise and other treatments based on your dog’s needs, and I’ll show you what to work on at home.
We’ll talk about the things you’d like your dog to do more easily, whether that’s walking around the neighborhood or getting up from the floor.
The approach
Exercise is a central part of your dog’s care.
Depending on what your dog needs, I may also use hands-on manual therapy, laser therapy or dry needling.
I’ll give you a customized home exercise program and show you how to do the exercises with your dog. You’ll need to follow that plan between visits.
Getting started
How do we get started?
We’ll talk about your dog.
During a 45-minute exploratory call, we’ll discuss what’s going on with your dog, what you’d like to work on and what you’ll need to do at home. We’ll use that conversation to decide whether to work together.
We’ll meet for an evaluation.
We’ll talk about life with your dog, assess movement and range of motion, and use additional testing where needed. I’ll explain the findings and answer your questions. Every dog needs a veterinary referral by the evaluation.
You’ll have a plan to follow at home.
You’ll receive a customized home exercise program based on the findings. We’ll connect the work to the things you’d like to do together. Treatment may begin during the evaluation if time allows.

How does care work?
What does a mobile visit involve?
I come to your home in Central Phoenix to work with you and your dog. You’ll generally just need some open space where we can work together. If we’re a good fit, we’ll talk through any other preparation during the exploratory call.
What happens at the evaluation?
First, I want to hear what’s been difficult for you and your dog, both at home and when you’re out together. Then I assess your dog’s movement and range of motion, along with any additional testing that’s needed. I’ll explain the findings, answer your questions and provide treatment if time allows at the end.
Will I get a home exercise program?
You’ll receive a customized home exercise program to get started, based on the evaluation findings. It’s specific to your dog rather than a general exercise routine.
Does my dog need every treatment?
The treatments I use will depend on your dog’s evaluation. Exercise is central to care, and I may include manual therapy, laser therapy or dry needling when appropriate.
Do I need a referral before contacting you?
You don’t need a referral before asking about care. Every dog does need a veterinary referral by the evaluation. You can upload it to Janeapp beforehand or provide it at the evaluation. Please don’t send clinical records by email or with your call booking.
What’s expected of me at home?
You’ll need to carry out the home exercise program between visits. We’ll talk about what that asks of you during the call, before we decide to work together.
